nico oved | photographer

nico oved is from Canada, which means he's exceptional at saying please and thank you and doesn't really get cold. He went to school in Montréal, then more school in Toronto, and then even more school in San Francisco. Somewhere in there he fell in love with Brazil and learned to speak Portuguese. In São Paulo, he worked with a number of great photographers both Brazilian and Gringo and learned something about being undocumented. What began with the patience and precision of using an old 4x5 field camera to make mural-sized fine art landscapes has evolved into a fascination with portraiture, food and the agility of a digital workflow. Now based in Oakland, he can't get enough of stamping his passport, meeting new people and pushing that shutter release button every day.
